Good set but sound quality is very poor – Michelle Peel –
I purchased a 32″ Toshiba Regza 2 years ago and loved it. We wanted a bigger set for the living room and decided to go with the 52″ Regza set again. Someone else has complained about the sound system and so do I. On the 32″ set the sound speakers were built in on the front frame of the TV — the sound pointed out and into the room. On this set the speakers are built under the TV frame — the sound points down. The sound is also louder behind the TV than in front of the TV. I don’t have this hanging on a wall so I don’t know if that would make a difference. I have the TV sitting on an entertainment stand and the back is open out to a hallway. When I walk down the hallway the sound is twice as loud as it is in front of the TV set. I’m very, very disappointed that Toshiba set the speakers into the TV in such a way to make the sound quality so bad. I love the 32″ and if I had read more I probably would’ve gone with a Samsung or Sanyo set instead. But, I was happy with the 32″ and thought the 52″ would be the same.
